Ah, famous last words! I was hard at work on the InfoGear iPhone episode, and suddenly the display contrast looked very dark, and the adjustment dials stopped working. And this thing is a BEEYATCH to disassemble. While taking it apart, 2 capacitors loosely fell out of the unit.

So it's broke. What's next? Thankfully, Steve from Mac84 is going to attempt to repair it. In the meantime, I found an online seller who had another unit; it's shipping to me now!

Sadly, this episode will likely not come out in February, but I will release it as soon as possible! Meanwhile, enjoy some of these behind-the-scenes pics. See the one with the Raspberry Pi? I'm using that to simulate a dial-up connection so I can get the iPhone online! Stay tuned…

Special thanks to Savvy Sage for helping me research this episode. Also, thanks to Brainiac Brent for helping me test the hardware, and thanks to Steve from Mac84 for helping me configure the Pi (and suppling components) AND for repairing the iPhone. Lots of teamwork on this one. 👏

Yes, a telephony card could work with that. Look up Digium TDM cards, and let me know if you have any servers that have Conventional PCI or PCI-Express expansion capabilities. We'd need one of those.

Your storage server, that ran Linux (the last time I looked you had one for storing your video footage) would be appropriate for this. Let me know and I can look around. It'd be great to chat with you one on one about this. Are you available on Discord?
