Hey guys! So tomorrow (September 15) I'm hosting an Apple Event breakdown on Computer Clan Live. This if my first webcast with my new iMac, which means it's time for a new setup! So far, it's blowing the other one out of the water!

The new 27-inch iMac offers a MUCH bigger screen than my 15-inch MacBook Pro. It also packs way more performance, and it's dead silent—no more noisy laptop fans! It also has built-in ethernet, so no more dongle for the network connection! Did I just say "dongle"? Sorry, I meant CONVERSION TECHNOLOGY!

I also ditched my Blackmagic UltraStudio Mini Recorder for an Elgato capture device. This is a loaner model, but I'm totally buying one. It's way less finicky.

Not much changed with the audio interface or light controls, but I repositioned them so they're easier to access. Honestly, not sure why I didn't do this before…

I'm also going to use AirPods so I don't have giant headphones on my face while I'm recording, and no more annoying cable, either! You don't see them in this picture because… well… I haven't bought them yet. Gotta run to the store!

Here's what I see on the iMac screen. OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) handles the video switching and master audio, and Audio Hijack (on the right) handles the signal chain for all the audio effects. All those blue squares are a mix of audio inputs, outputs, and effects.

Hoping everything goes smooth! I'm expecting at least 10,000 viewers to appear, so let's make it a good show! I'll see you there.

How long does it take to set up? I'd imagine having to lug an iMac over to where you usually film is pretty tiring...
