Hope your meditation went well. It is okay not to like things that disappoint us, especially when the art is so good and Nibutani and Dekomori are on hand to make mayhem. We're in the frustrating position of having them *not* be the two leads because--along with Touka--they're the most interesting characters. I want to see where they go and what they become. Totally agree with your anger in how Touka was handled and written. Long story short, I want to re-watch the elopement arc in Toradora again. That was amazing. This is just sadly predictable. Agree with your anger with Shichimiya's character and how she was handled. Think you missed calling the writers out for dumbing down Kumin in the process to prop up Shichimiya's argument. Two quick asides: 1) Rikka is stated in the subtitles to still be 17, so she is still a minor. 2) How successful can a career chuuni be as an adult in Japanese culture? That would make an interesting manga. I think chuunis probably would fare somewhat better in America. where individualism is more acceptable....but that's an opinion with no facts one way or the other to support it. What would happen to Rikka?

That was my main problem with this movie also. Touka's motivations are still the same as always. The worst part is that this could have been easily resolved, by changing her focus from trying to end Rikka's chunni to her actual academic problems. Have Rikka actually fail and have to repeat a grade, then Touka's reasoning for wanting to take her to Italy with her becomes a valid and reasonable concern.
