That moment when Natori looks at Natsume when he's drying Hiiragi's hair, I interpreted as worried. Because he sees how Natsume thinks about yokai in a similar way to how he thinks about humans, and he see the danger in that. Then the danger is demonstrated when Natsume is tricked by a yokai he treated with compassion. But then we also get a moment when Natsume is saved by a yokai whom he treated with compassion. So we get both sides of the argument. The way that Natsume's way of doing things is good, while also acknowledging the inherent danger in it. I think it's done really well. Also, Natori doesn't know about the Book of Friends. He saw that something happened, and I think he knows that Natsume is hiding something from him, but he doesn't know what's going on.
