YAY! New upload! I already love this arc in the anime but after binging this arc in LN, it's shocking how much cut content there is. One important detail that was cut from this episode regards Rem. More specifically the orders that she was given by Roswaal. Some people watching this anime, might wonder what's the purpose of Rem staying with Subaru in the capital. I mean, Rem is a huge asset to Roswaal. She's one of the mansions best defences and a strong magic user to boot! It's not like Crusch and her party can opt out of taking care of Subaru due to the contract so why does he need to be with Rem? Leaving such a great asset as just a caretaker for Subaru seems kind of a waste don't you think? Well, here's the fun part. While Rem's orders were to keep an eye on Subaru. She was also given orders by Roswaal to negotiate for an alliance with the Crusch camp. In fact, during the stay at Crusch's mansion, Rem and Crusch were having late night discussions while Subaru slept. Rem aimed to get an alliance with Crusch by giving her mining rights to the magic stones in Elior Forest which Roswaal gave her permission to offer as a bargaining chip in order to form an alliance. However this wasn't a enough to convince her, so all of the negotiations led to failure.

Another interesting order that Roswaal gave Rem was to not tell Subaru of these negotiations unless Subaru himself specifically asked about it. This is why, Rem doesn't tell Subaru that she was trying to start an alliance with Subaru herself. Once Subaru asked Rem "What orders did Roswaal give you" after his second wind last episode, Rem divulged everything to him. It's this point in particular imo that makes the negotiation with Crusch a hell lot more rewarding. In the anime, it seemed more like some of these conditions came out of no where. There is no mention of the Rights to the Magic Stones of Elior Forest before this episode. In the LN however, Subaru is essentially taking over as the negotiator and is able to offer the mining rights as that's what Rem was previously offering to Crusch which makes it feel more earned rather than an ass pull.
