Edit: I started the next video and now my comment is very dated, but I am not complaining! Glad to see it's been called out and you are super fast to respond! Respect! So I joined because I read about your reactions elsewhere and gave you a try in another series - I very much enjoy watching your reactions and like the format and style and your insight... but... damn these subs really make all the beats I'm used to in Frieren hit way weaker IMO. As non-native people who rely on the subs to interpret what is being said, obviously having those subs worded totally differently really can change how you interpret events. To me everything just feels worse in this translation. "Corrupt priest" is missing, and a lot of the wording sounds worse (another example to compare is when they're joking about how Heiter looked old now, and Frieren says he's always looked that way - it feels way less funny here vs the official Crunchyroll subs). Hopefully you switch to the official subs down the road. And if you're up to it, I'd challenge you to rewatch an episode with the official subs, I expect you'd find it to be better, but maybe that's just seeing it from the perspective of someone who's experienced those many times over.
