Right and Wrong

One of the reasons that this animation looks different is cuz Mappa’s animators are under a huge time crunch, so there are probably different teams making different scenes. Not sure if you’re aware, but Mappa are working their staff to the bone, some animating teams working 3 days straight, or so,e even sleeping in the studio to work on it from morning to night. I really can’t wait for this season to finish so the staff can finally catch a bit of rest. Hopefully new projects will be more spaced out, or at least come out with a new episode every 2 weeks rather than one, cuz apparently someone on the team said that Sukuna vs Mahoraga episode was only like 30% finished. Sorry for the walk of text 😅

I don't know if you caught it but you seem to confused as to what was going on why it was such a big deal that mahito touched her face. Well they ran past each other and the one that has all the techniques ran past the one that is the copy meaning the one yuji was chasing touched her

The manga also provides a clearer explanation as to why Norbara kind of just stood there and got hit. The anime has cut out some of the narrator's monologue in the past two episodes. It made clear the actual mahito acted as a blind spot for the other one, so she couldn't tell that they swapped or that the second one was even there, and also emphasizes that Nobara let guard down in regards to mahito's hands due to her believing he was still the clone that couldn't transfigure humans.

Between witnessing Nanami being killed by Mahito and this scene was about 15 minutes or so only for Itadori. Tough times

So I’ve watched this episode 3 times now and I think I finally get what the intent was. The execution is definitely up for debate. So when Mahito touches Nobara (poor representation of the sequence in my option especially without the context the manga gives) he states that maybe she can survive one touch as someone did previously. Thus setting up going into the flashback to try and get you to be on edge. It’s supposed to make you wonder whether she is about to turn up because it didn’t work or that was it and she dies. This is just my opinion and personal observation. Idk how true that is.
