SEASON FINALE TIME!  But I have a question...

Without context or spoiling other shows, are there any other cliff hangers as bad as this one in ALL of anime?  This has got to be the worst...and the season finale at that?!  I just immediately feel for the people who was watching it when it first came out...this had to be insane torture.
