As far as I know, using your feet (and other parts of your body) are allowed in volleyball! But it seems they only do that as a last resort / defence thing. Ideally, they want to use their hands. Better control.

Hey Joey, just a simple clarification about Hinata's eyes open during a spike: He can only do that when they don't use the freak quick. Kageyama and Hinata constatly switch between normal quicks (eyes open, Shoyo can aim the attacks, averagely fast) and freak quicks (eyes closed, fixed direction, ultra fast). That's why people get lost on their timing sometimes.
