You know I've come to realize when it comes to the whole sub vs dub debate, it's always the sub side that complains the most. Like seriously, let the man watch whatever version he wants. Some people don't like to constantly read subtitles or they go too fast. Some people aren't used to anime and want to watch in their own language. And not to mention you people take the dub voices way out of proportion, claiming they're atrocious when they're not. Grow up

there are cases where the dub is on par but I still think the majority (for example JJBA) is not due to a couple facts: the voice acting industry in Japan is way bigger and more effort is put in voice directing, there are examples where the dub completely changes the tone of a character. Insome cases the manga artist even has a role in choosing the voice tone. Another factor is that japanese voice actors put more raw power and tend to "overact" which fits anime as it they are usually exaggerated but on the contrary in live action dramas it might come off as unnatural and as overacting. My principle is to consume media in the language it is supposed to, however I will appreciate whatever Joey chooses. I was hesitant to watch his MHA first but I got used to it and don't mind the dub even if imo some characters like Bakugo and Todoroki are not even close to their japanese voices.
