Eren can't use the coordinate to control titans without making contact with someone of royal blood, right?  So why was he able to do it when he threatened Reiner & Bertolt while carrying Mikasa in S2 E12?  Just curious...maybe there's a time limit on how long he can use it after making contact with royal blood?  Idk, I'm editing the S2 E12 episode right now and it's my favorite episode in the series so I wanted to know why this was!!!

It’s never mentioned, so i think it’s probably just a plot hole, a lot of aot’s story is intricate and well thought out, but there are a few small plot holes from earlier in the story that are unexplained

guessing theres a time limit bc mikasa being true royal blood would be a major majorr plot hole

Most likely a time limited thing. Or for dramatic effect. Either way, the last part of AoT (only manga rn) explains more of this, so guess you'll have to wait to find out

Definitely a time limit. I don't think there would be a plot hole that big. After getting in contact with someone with royal blood Eren gains the power to control the Coordinate for a time...

The reason why eren was able to use the coordinate in season 2 because the titan that he punched is Dina fritz which is have a royal blood. You can only use the the coordinate if youre a descendant of a royal blood.

Question: since you’re caught up, and seen armins actions throught the show, do you think Erwin would have done a better job fighting for humanity if he was alive instead of armin? Or would you still choose armin over Erwin. Erwin with the colossal titan, or armin with the colossal? It’s almost poetic how the show wrote it to be where, the most pacifist, peaceful character (armin), got the power of destruction.

I'm not 100% sure, but my best guess is that he was able to use the power for a short time after coming into contact with a Titan of royal blood. We only see it happen 2 times so its not entirely a plot hole

This is exactly the case, to use the power of the founder without being royal you need to touch a Titan or Titan shifter with royal blood

Something fun I like to think about is that grisha stole the founding power then had to make it to trost where the shinganshina refugees were. We later see Dina still Wandering inside the walls outside trost. Technically there was a small chance of grisha seeing Dina as he made his way to eren to deliver the founding and attack. He could very well have used the founding that day the walls fell.
