Hahaha Joey not understanding the jaw titan situation despite it being explained then when it is being re-explained proceeds to make cookie jokes the entire time and missing it again. Jaw is referring to the Jaw titan as a power not as a person Marcel was the Jaw titan who was eaten by Ymir so Ymir now has possession of the jaw titan power she chose to go with Reiner and Berthold, when Historia is reading her letter we see her tied up like Erin was when Rodd wanted Historia to eat Him to regain the founding titan and then in an episode or 2 ago we see Porco standing infront of her about to get transformed into a titan 2+2= Porco now has the Jaw titan power. Porco is Marcels brother so there titans look kind of similar. The group of young kids at the beginning were all the warrior candidates at that time Annie, Reiner, Berthold, Pieck, Marcel, Porco the oldest one being Zeke and the cut to Erin was to show the contrast between their 2 worlds. Erin mindlessly staring at the sky wanting something to happen while the Warrior candidates are training/winning wars for Marley. Also remember that 9 years ago when they first attacked and first broke the wall (killed Erins mum) ep 1-2 they were all young then there was a time skip to episode 3 of them all training then another time skip ep 4 they are soldiers it has been 5 years since the first wall fall the colossal titan reappears and breaks the wall of Trost. At the end of season 3 it is mentioned its been 4 months since the battle of Trost and at the beginning of this season it is mention its been 9 years since they attacked paradis so 2+2= the events taking place now in marley are about 4 years after the events of s3

dw Joey took a lot of us a rewatch or two to figure shit out, I think I've watched this show now 3 times and I still find new details every time

I didn't even catch the Berthold weather thing! 🤣 I've read the manga and watched the show and still found something new lol. 😂 That crippled man... Is important. That phrase he said at the end, "only those who keep moving forward will ever know" is the same thing Reiner told that guy many years ago. Seriously can't wait till you get to the next few episodes!! They're so sick!

bro, Marcel was the jaw titan, Ymir ate him and became the jaw titan, then Marcels's brother Porco ate Ymir and is currently the jaw titan.

The purpose of that edit before the opening is to show you the relation in what's happening inside paradis' walls at the same time as the first scene were reiner and the candidates are talking. While the warrior candidates are preparing to inherit titans and invade Paradis, Eren is just leisurely spending his time doing nothing but staring at the sky as the days pass by trapped in a cage. The day Armin showed Eren the book about the outside world and gained his new purpose in life is the same day Reiner first learned about to operation to infiltrate Paradis which became his new purpose in life.
