Today I want to thank Simon for the gift he gave me and tell you the story of this candle or better of this laboratory of perfumers from Capri.

You should know that the name Carthusia derives from "Certosa" (Certosa di San Giacomo) and this is the origin of the legend of this mysterious fragrance which is discovered by chance after leaving the most beautiful flowers of the island in the water for 3 days. be given to the sovereign Giovanna D'Angiò but unfortunately she never arrived on the island.

Of that water the first birth of the first perfume of Capri

The story wants, however, that in 1948 the prior of the Certosa found old formulas of perfumes and that, under the Pope's license, revealed them to a Piedmontese chemist (and here comes my pride of being Piedmontese hehe) who created the smallest laboratory of the world calling it "Carthusia", that is, Certosa.

Even today these perfumes are made, and as in my case candles, which use Capri flowers and herbs and are well suited to both men and women

As always I am sorry to light the candles because I think that once finished there is no more memory ... but today I changed my mind a little bit because I think that by releasing these scents that we like and to which we are attached into the air. we also free up some of ourselves.

Oggi voglio ringraziare Simon per il regalo che mi ha fatto e raccontarvi la storia di questa candela o meglio di questo laboratorio di profumieri di Capri.

Dovete sapere che il nome Carthusia deriva da " Certosa" (Certosa di San Giacomo) e proprio da qui nasce la leggenda di questa fragranza misteriosa che viene scoperta per caso dopo aver lasciato per 3 giorni in acqua i fiori più belli dell'isola che dovevano essere regalati alla sovrana Giovanna D'Angiò ma purtroppo lei non arrivò mai sull'isola.

Di quell'acqua la prima nascita del primo profumo di Capri

La storia vuole, invece, che nel 1948 il priore della Certosa ritrovò delle vecchie formule dei profumi e che, su licenza del Papa, le svelò ad un chimico piemontese ( e qui arriva il mio orgoglio di essere piemontese hehe)che creò il più piccolo laboratorio del mondo denominandolo "Carthusia" cioè appunto Certosa.

Ancora oggi vengono realizzati questi profumi, e come nel caso mio candele, che utilizzano fiori ed erbe di Capri e ben si addicono sia all'uomo che alla donna

Come sempre mi dispiace accendere le candele perchè penso che una volta finite non ci sia più il ricordo...ma oggi ho cambiato un pò idea perchè penso che liberando nell'aria questi profumi che ci piacciono e a cui siamo legati,. liberiamo anche un pò di noi stessi.
