A lot of fans didn't care much for the Amelia and Sam storyline. I agree with you; I never felt a believable chemistry between them. To me it felt like a means to an end story arc for the brothers. As for Dean's anger towards Sam, a) Season 6 he ignored part of his promise when Sam and Adam both swan dived into the pit - he got his hands on every book he could, hoping to find a way to mount a rescue from hell while trying to make a life with Lisa and Ben. When Sam called him on it, Dean says something like "of course I did, so sue me". b)Dean has real problems with a lack of self-worth so his baby brother has now dumped another steaming pile of that, on top of the mountain Dean already drags behind him. c) I can only imagine how much Dean secretly clung to the thread of hope that Sam would find him, somehow, in Purgatory and how devastated he would be to discover Sam didn't even TRY. Add Dean's PTSD of sorts regarding his year in "hell adjacent" to the mix and the rougher, more edgey attitude and it is not going to end well. Someone please get the Winchesters into therapy ASAP!

2024-02-10 22:47:15 Amelia doesn't come across as likeable or stable. Aside from how absurdly irresponsible it is for anyone, but a vet especially, to try to guilt a complete stranger who's stated he has a non-dog-friendly lifestyle into adopting a dog, there's also the things she says to Sam when they meet in the hotel room, which come off as the kind of mean, judgmental comments that most people would never say out loud, especially not to the person they're about. It's like she's been hit with the Giggle from Doctor Who. It seems like maybe the idea was 'two damaged people bonding' but comes off as 'Sam feeling so alone he clings to someone horrible'. He'd be better off as her therapist than her love interest. She'd be a more believable match for someone with a similar host of emotional issues. Dean for example.

Sam is a hypocrite regarding Benny. He let Lenore & her nest go. He let Kate go. He let Amy go, even though she was KILLING HUMANS. I really hate him more for his treatment of Benny than being soulless and letting Dean get turned. Don't assume Benny will let Dean down. What we've seen of him so far, is a gentle teddy bear soul (not including killing in Purgatory for survivial). I trust Benny right now, more than I do Sam. And Garth. We all love and trust Garth, aka Bobby Jr.

I love Benny. One of my favorite all time characters from this show. And yes, Sam is a hypocrite. *full disclosure, I am a Dean fan and see Supernatural through Dean colored glasses😁
