Yes! This episode! Welcome the mega meta of Supernatural. I don't know what you know about the Supernatural fandom - but yes Sam/Dean ship was and is very real in certain aspects of the fandom - it's known as wincest and it's surprisingly more popular than you think. (I don't ship it!) The other ship is Dean/Cas or Destiel which is by far more popular. The first fan fic of them appeared the day after 4x01 aired apparently! This show doesn't have many female characters for people to ship them with lol. Also Rob Benedict (Chuck) - you may know him from Lucifer, but he's also played a vampire in Buffy (in a scene with Adam in season 4)

Nobody does meta as good as Supernatural. This episode is amazing, especially because it starts out so fun and lighthearted and then it turns into this story heavy episode towards the end.

Remember this episode by its every moment, ideally by every single word, by everything you see, hear and experience... In time you will find this knowledge handy. Cannot tell what you need to know, and when as it would be way to much of foreshadowing

By the way, 6 years back I start working on dystopian future SCI FI book, way before I knew SPN series, and the thing Chuck says that he wrote himself in the story is not that crazy... I did the same with me and my SCI FI, as I wrote myself to it, since than I have nightmares each night of being me in the book I work on
