2023-11-15 16:49:39 One big difference between the show's portrayal of Pan and of Arthur is that Pan was always intended to be a morally grey figure in the original JM Barrie play, in which he's written as the wilfully irresponsible spiriter away of children. The Disney version made Pan much more heroic than original & Once just reverted back closer to the play version. Here Arthur's villainy is much different than legend portrays him, in which he's a Celtic folk hero, standing up against the invading Anglo-Saxons. Here they flipped his character by having him oppress his people. Merida casting herself as Arthur's enemy evokes the same sort of Celtic resistance to Saxon tyranny as Arthur is himself usually credited with.

See I see this interpretation but I don't nessicarily agree. Arthur has always been flawed.
