I knew you'd freak as soon as you saw Amy Acker! I'm glad you didn't notice her name pop up in the credits earlier. This is a very dark episode, but it also gives us a lot of Dean character development as well, it starts with him being flirty and his outgoing self, but it then shows his caring side and a fatherly side to him. As you said he'd make a great dad and it looks like he would based on this episode. Having watched you react to Doctor Who and Buffy and other things, you starting Supernatural is like introducing a friend to it and hope they like it, having watched it many times and I know what the flaws are and the 'bad' episodes (even a bad ep of SPN is good TV), it makes me nervous lol. With is also being 2005 there are some un PC comments in the first few seasons that I wish hadn't been written (not many thankfully), but I mean Buffy had some too... I'm glad you're liking it so far.

This is one of those shows that's interesting to watch later with many guest stars from before they starred in their own shows now knowing who they are when we didn't during the original run. There's a comment that i will have to touch on at a later time. i think season 3 or 4 was during the writers strike so just be prepared for that, but it in no way takes away from the show in my opinion. Like Buffy this first season as you can see has it's monsters of the week but even more so you see the sprinkles of the emotional ties that connect the brothers that makes even the minor episodes worth watching.

Yes season 3 is shorter because of a writer's strike. I was watching the show during that time and it felt like forever waiting for the next episode as it was mid season!

Dean with kids is one of my favorite things in the show. You’re so good at spotting things, Lucas is absolutely a personification of Sam for Dean. Dean was 4 when Mary died (BTW I’m not sure you got it but Jessica died on the 22 anniversary of Mary’s - the Mom - death), Sam was exactly 6 months old. Looking forward to more of your reactions, I’m enjoying them a lot.
