I thought Rob Benedict, who I adore as Chuck BTW, did a wonderful job portraying Dan. Kevin Alejandro directed this episode. It's too bad Scarlett, aka Trixie, wasn't available more. But she didn't have a signed contract for S6, so she took other roles. Then TPTB decided to add a final season. Hence her sporadic appearance here. But at least we got that wonderful Dan/Trixie moment even if she wasn't aware. And I still tear up at the Maze/Lucifer goodbye. Lesley-Anne said she had difficulty getting through the scene and you could tell.

I was very mad Trixie wasn't on Lucifer's Goodbye list this episode. I know Trixie was at camp, but he could have written a note or tried. Given how hurt she was in s5 and Dan was alive then and she doesn't even have him now, that's just terrible. Also there was no mention by Chloe she asked her to go out with them, so given Rory's yelling about Trixie "not being Lucifer's real daughter" in 6x7 and Lucifer and Chloe saying nothing about that being out of line (really bothered me)... it just left a bad taste in my mouth like Chloe moved on to another family; it just came off as a bad implication for me that Trixie is the outsider in her own family now. I really thought Lucifer was going to get a chocolate cake when they were in the bakery. Chloe drinking while pregnant was a bad look. The Dan/Trixie stuff was beautiful. I do wish she had figured out though she was talking to her Dad in that moment. The flip was awesome. The other Goodbyes were nice. But I do think the God plot was settled too quickly. I wish we'd seen more of Amenadiel with the other siblings. A war was fought because Amenadiel did not want to be God in 5b, there should be some pushback from the others calling Amenadiel and Lucifer out on that they basically wasted their time and got siblings killed. But that fits with a complaint of mine this season, even though certain characters did get their own episodes this season, I do feel over all Rory has taken too much airtime and the cast members I've loved since season 1/2 have felt in the background too much. A major plotline of season 5 was undone this episode too easily, too off screen, and too fast. Amenadiel should have been talking to Linda about the decision too, but no, we can only have so many scenes not about Rory.

great reaction- Oh Liam, I am going to miss your detailed and thoughtful lucifer reactions so much. I don't think Dan has anything left to feel guilty about because he spoke to Trixie and faced his guilt and ascended to Heaven. It isn't his fault that Le Mec is now likely to cause trouble or how or he might do it. I don't think Dan would have killed Le Mec because however evil Le Mec is, it isn't Dan's place to take a human life for I feel he would have felt guilty about that and been stuck on earth longer. Like you, I thought this episode was a poignant and beautiful rollercoaster of emotions and each goodbye hurt a little more...but I have always loved the heartbreaking moments of drama in this Show so this episode was one of my favourites. I love seeing Luci connect with his child (albeit grown up-ish...but I get it. My daughter is now in her thirties but she is still my child in my heart although, like Rory, she is a kick ass strong woman) This story of the Deckerstar family is one I didn't know I needed to see but am so glad I did. I'm glad we didn't just have cooing over a newborn Deckerstar baby but got a powerful and deeply emotional story about parents and child to bring Luci's story full circle. It was lovely to see that goodbye scene with Trixie and Dan. Scarlett who plays Trixie was filming a lead role in a movie so was hardly available for season 6. I am so glad they managed some lovely moments with her when they could get her for a few days. I was sad that Luci didn't say goodbye to Trixie in his own way but the Showrunners said it was a mixture of timing due to her other commitments and they also decided that a goodbye with Luci might have made her goodbye with her father a little less powerful and emotional so okay, I'll go with that. As to Amenadiel being God, I always thought he was God in training from season 4 onwards. he always seemed to have that calming touch, that ability to care about everyone and more importantly that understanding of free will even if the results are cruel- something Luci really struggled with. Is was Amenadiel that said 'You have to risk falling (even risking death) if you want to fly. I think Amenagod will be perfect...I would hope so and if the celestial siblings are floundering without a leader, I wouldn't think, (as Amenadiel was their first choice to be God before) that much persuasion would be needed unless Heaven is to descend in anarchy. After all, in truth, as luci said himself, he knew they didn't want him as God and they really didn't want Michael and yet no one else stepped up to the role so...I think they'll accept Amenadiel with a sigh of relief! Next episode is amazing and contains not one but four of my favourite pieces of music ever used in this Show and there have been many great song and soundtrack choices throughout six seasons but in episode 10 there are some now that I will never listen to in the same way again. Looking forward to sharing this last and final episode with you. I can't believe it is over soon.
