Ok, yes Cordy/Connor is ultra creep-worthy. But he's approximately 18 and she's 22, so it's not an age thing. Gonna leave that there.

Even if the Cordy /Connor kiss hadn't happened, their inclusion felt so out of place. And ending the episode with her when this ep was about Fred and Gunn! Feels unfair and not very Buffyverse-like, just for the sake of a weird cliffhanger. This would be one of my favorite episodes this season if Connor and Cordy had been taken out of it, or if their story were even a little bit thematically related to what was going on in the A story. I'm glad they weren't directly involved in the A story because this way I can just straight up skip through their scenes (I don't like the vibes of amnesia!Cordelia), but still. On a positive note, what a great episode! Packed full of really good character moments for Fred, Gunn, Angel, Wesley, and Lilah. Angel is rarely the one to lighten the mood of a super dark episode but here he is, handing out fuzzy slippers and flexing his photographic memory muscles and getting excited about having a fandom. "C'mon, I'm holding your head!" is also a highlight. The Decision of the episode is really complex and hardly a clean moral choice no matter how you look at it. I don't think what Gunn did is right or wrong, or I think it's both. This isn't necessarily directly indicated, but I've always felt like Gunn killing him instead of just pushing him into the portal is an act of mercy from one human being to another. That was a full on legit hell dimension, and though I believe Siedel deserved to die or maybe get sent to a place like Pylea, I do not think anyone deserves to be tortured for all eternity, which is what that dimension looked like it had to offer. Imagining that would be even more of a weight on my conscience than murdering someone, personally.

Hi Liam, another great reaction! Your face when Cordy and Connor kissed was amazing! XD One thing which didn't come up but might shed some light on Fred's reaction was what she said to Wesley in the car: "Gunn doesn't have it in him (to murder someone), it's one of the things I love about him." I both liked and despised the Gunn/Fred story. On the one hand, Gunn killing the professor so Fred wouldn't have his blood on her hands and Fred reacting with unintentional disgust was such a unique and interesting issue to arise in their romance and something which I have not seen another series do before. On the other hand, this was such an unfair choice for poor Gunn which I remember having an immediate negative reaction towards on my first watch. Also, I did not like that they took Fred to such a dark place with little to no prior build-up (unlike, for example, Willow throughout S6 of Buffy). Was also never a fan of the Fred/Wesley romantic tension because he was such a bitter #NiceGuy around her and she was always portrayed as too willfully oblivious for her sharp character. So I did not like that they played up the tension of Wesley being the only one Fred thought she could turn to. Kind of like how it was a bit cringey that Xander had to give Buffy CPR in Prophecy Girl when Angel could not; it was like a bad Twilight-esque love triangle moment (like when Jacob had to cuddle Bella because Edward has no body heat).

It’s ironic that you also reacted to the Buffy episode Him and this one so close together. The kiss is super creepy from the viewer’s standpoint, but is a little less murky from the character’s. I believe age-wise, the characters (Scoobies/Cordelia) are all around 21/22 as this would be their last year in college. Couple that with a 17/18 year old Connor, who has never experienced relationships, hormones and emotions (that we know about) and Cordy who doesn’t remember her former life… Yeah, still creepy.
