There’s a deleted scene for this episode which I’ve linked here (no spoilers) from YouTube: https://youtu.be/po94GM4qvBg I really think you would enjoy it and I hope you watch it and maybe even react to it if you like :-) As you already mentioned Summer Glau was playing the prima ballerina and she actually had a dance ballet background which is probably why they cast her. But I believe the idea for Joss to write (and direct) this episode about ballet was because he knew that Amy Acker had done ballet and dance before acting. So that was cool. I love this ep and I kinda see it as Angel’s response to Once More with Feeling.

This is one of my absolute favorite episodes in all of the Buffyverse. It’s just so wonderfully written and acted and the sexual tension between everyone is so apparent and at such a boiling point. I love it

This was actually Summer Glau's first role, and god did she shine. Even doing an accent, every line was so filled with pain. It makes sense that this made a big enough impression to get her in the door for Firefly (which was her 2nd role).
