This was the first season that Buffy and Angel were on different networks, and I think they were trying to figure out how to handle the fact that there were intellectual property issues between them, hence the non-seeing of the reunion. My favorite thing about the idea of the nerd Trio--and I'm not averse to them in theory--is that they are way outside the framework of Buffy's calling. What does she do with humans who use supernatural powers? So far, Amy's mom did herself in, the Initiative took care of Ethan, and Ted turned out to be a robot. What's she supposed to do when the law doesn't have recourse to handle something, but she can't exactly Slay it, either? Also, this is always the point where I think... the Watchers' Council missed a trick by not paying the Slayer. With their control issues, you'd think having a financial leash would be right up their alley.

I really love this episode, although due to the stark realism it should really carry a trigger warning for anyone who has worked in retail. Also, Moonraker really is inexcusable.

i mean no demon or villian is going to be selfless and care about the slayers feelings. i guess the issue is as stated we're just not used to them being human who should have morals.

This reaction was a pure joy to watch, Liam. LOL Your delight throughout it was wonderful. Also, you just have the most infectious laugh. :D I think you are one of a lot of people's favorite reactors, myself included, and this episode reminds us why. Also, "This episode's going to get a drunk rewatch for sure." Yay! Because we love drunk Liam.

I love your Doctor Who Christmas Jumper! I bought a Supernatural one recently

I *love* this episode of Buffy and so happy you enjoyed it! I think most people don't like the nerds as villains, but I love them, too. You're right. This is the comedy and lightheartedness we needed after very heavy episodes from season 5 onward. This is why I feel so far this season is a breath of fresh air compared to 5.

Ok first of all, you look adorable in that sweater and I love it.

And now having actually watched the reaction: One of the things I always appreciate about your reaction is your attention and sensitivity to the emotional states of the characters. That's something that is always important to me in a narrative, and I love when others are perceptive and thoughtful about such things.

I honestly do not mind them being adversaries. It's always going to be hard to topple Glory, so what if you don't attempt that? Don't stretch before potentially failing to try? And there is nothing supernatural about these villains. They're not vampires, a giant snake, a cyborg or a god. They're geeks who get their kicks on being their bad guys from the comics. Why not settle for human.

I am loving your reactions to this season so far! I never caught on to the fact that The Trio's torments are representations of Buffy's struggles with being reincarnated. Great observation! I love how in tune you are with what Buffy is going through. A lot of people don't seem to get it. Like, they understand the plot and all, but they can't seem to relate enough to Buffy's pain to understand her behaviors. You also appreciate the nerd humor, AND recognize its importance in balancing out the darker, more depressing themes being explored on the hero side of the tale. I can't wait to see what you think of the season as a whole. As always, thanks for sharing with us! :D
