As much as I love BtVS, I loved Angel the Series even more. I am so looking forward to this.

If I never mentioned it before...Buffy 2x19, I Only Have Eyes For You, is the episode that Joss realized that David Boreanaz had the acting chops to be able to helm his own show. Also one of my top Buffy eps. :) The party scene where the manager just comes up to Angel and tells him he's an actor, I've always seen it as, and I believe this was done this way on purpose, is a call back to how David was himself discovered. When they were looking to cast Angel on Buffy, they were looking for a devastatingly handsome man. They had auditioned a lot of guys but no one really fit the bill. Then one day, someone who was working on Buffy, saw David walking his dog in their neighborhood, and they told Joss they had found their Angel. :D I really love this show opener. I also love that Angel wasn't able to save Tina. Such an interesting angle to take. And....Doyle. I love him. Oh yes, the vampire makeup....for some reason, they thought that they needed to separate themselves from Buffy in some way, and the way they chose to do that was by modifying the vamp makeup. I agree it's offputting because they even did it to Angel and we know what Angel looks like in vamp face, and it is in no way a spoiler to tell you that after a few episodes they abandon that idea and go back to the regular vamp makeup.

As I have grown older, I also appreciate Angel the series a lot more. I even put it above Buffy sometimes. They interchange a lot for me. :)

I wish I watched Angel along side Buffy now at some points it’s better than btvs
