This episode is very strange for me. I still can't decide if I like it or not. On the one hand I loved Bangel and WillOz scenes but on the other hand I would really liked if Pratt stayed longer, cause he was a good dude. I also did not like how Buffy and Willow treated Debby. Trivia: 1.) Willow and Buffy were reading from The Call of the Wild. 2.) Faith references the TV-Show Manimal and Michael Ondaatje's book The English Patient which has been adapted into a movie starring Ralph Fiennes among others. 3.) If Pete had not been killed in this episode, he would have become a werewolf. It has been explained that anyone who was bitten by a werewolf will turn into one, and Oz was shown to have bitten Pete while in wolf form. However, Pete was not alive long enough after he was bitten for this to be acknowledged. 4.) Willow uses a Scooby-Doo lunch box to hold her "forensics" kit. 5.) When Buffy looks for chains for Angel, she finds dolls which belonged to Drusilla. This implies that the chains belonged to Spike in his erotic sets with Drusilla.

But it was unclear whether Pete was still technically human anymore, and I don't think demons can be turned into werewolves. But you're right, if Pete had survived they would have at least had to have worried about that.

one of the things i dislike about this episode is how Xander was treated. He sleeps through Oz watch and is yelled at and lectured. Buffy sleeps through it and she gets a smile and a gentle good morning. the both fell asleep, they both woke to Oz in his cage. I never really understood why Oz was their go to killer. did they really think werewolf oz got out a window that was open less the a foot, killed someone then came back to his cage?

I agree, that was strange. I think they had no idea who or what else could be the killer, so they latched on to the most convenient solution. Still weird.

Matter of opinion, but I think Debbie living would have worked better. I think it would have been nice to see Debbie not save herself (because that may imply she could have done that all along, which she couldn't have because Pete would have murdered her) but allow Buffy to kill Pete (even if Buffy didn't end up killing Pete). Debbie is kind of painted as a lost cause, which is very sad and also incorrect. Even though it is very difficult to break from an abusive relationship, to me it would have been more helpful to let Debbie take the first step in seeking help, to decide that she doesn't deserve to be treated that way.

I do agree. I like that side of Debbie living because with a show like this that does touch deeply onto topics, I always like to see something like Debbie's death as something done for a purpose, being the extent of how far an abusive relationship can go as what you posted is more ideal and what I do encourage the most and I ideally wanted her to be able to make the first step away from the abuse but I can also understand from my PoV what they did if that makes sense.
