I don't remember liking this one much when I first saw it, but. I enjoyed it seeing it again. The high light for me was the introduction to Jenny Calendar. Her techno-pagan background, and her attitude that magic didn't disappear with the advent of technology was a nice additional perspective. And like you, I very much enjoyed her interaction with Giles (though it was maybe a little one-sided; I would have liked Giles to get in more good digs as well). It's funny seeing this episode about the Internet when the Internet was knew (Moloch has access to every computer with a modem! beeeeeeeeee-boop-boop-boop-beeeee-boop). As you describe, it did suffer having "red-shirts" like the Pack, characters we don't follow who just exist to be antagonists who we forget about by the end.
