In defense of New Yorkers, though, when this came out it was the early days of the pandemic lockdowns, and we were the first U.S. city that got hit really hard. New Yorkers actually did a good job staying indoors, giving daily thanks and gratitude to the healthcare workers. Crime was initially pretty curtailed, unlike what we see in the blackout. So as bad as New Yorkers are painted here, at the time the episode came out, the opposite was occurring - we took the crisis quite seriously. (Then the months went on, lockdowns extended, protests happened, lockdowns partially lifted, ... THEN it started to look more like this episode)

Also, the fact that the episode ended on "everyone wash your hands" when this was made months before the pandemic - another eerie coincidence from this season
