The chat is up and rambling and several people have mentioned missing the old Livejournal meta-conversations, where I talked to the characters and they talked back. (And sometimes some of you talked to them in comments, and they answered!) I admit, I assumed this to be something that only works for a very few people, because it can make the canonical narrative feel contrived or fake (if the character is off fighting a war elsewhere, how can he be hanging out with me, chatting?). Or if it did work, it worked only for some settings (like Kherishdar, where the conceit is that the characters are aware of us.)

But it seems more than a handful of the folks in the chat liked them, and wouldn't mind seeing them again, and for other settings like the Pelted one. And this is so startling that I felt I should ask if they are alone!

So! Meta-conversations: yes? No?

I liked these quite a lot -- partly to know that other authors experience "my character is talking to me" moments... >_>

I hadn't realised this was a thing, but it sound fun.

I had been reading some of the earlier of these on LJ, before they went away. I'd love more! --filkferengi

<waves> I see we're backing a lot of the same names :) We're at the Eastercon, which included an item on Vorkosigan's Law with a dramatisation of the court scene where Ivan is asking his cousin for a divorce.</waves>

I would joyfully participate for PG, HI, Kherishdar, and BL. As a matter of fact, I would up my support level to participate for these settings. And I firmly believe time and space are irrelevant for meta discussions :-)

Looking forward to what everyone has to say.

These are always fun to read!

I <3 meta conversations and miss them. I especially want Kerishdar, but anything would be nifty. (I hope First Servant is well! <3 <3 )

And thank You, Jaguar, for asking the question!

I have a few questions I would like to ask you, and will take answers from your characters. How does the G. body language work with all those extra limbs? Are there wing shrugs, and do they mean something different from arm shrugs or are they combined? Things like that

Having not read Mindhealers at all (I need to fix that) I could easily see these meta-conversations happening as an aside to therapy. Say, something like a pocket mental universe based on a snapshot of a given character such that we could interact with a given character knowing more about their future than they do... As a gross example, a chat with 'new ambassador to the Chatcaven Empire'...
