We ran down dozens of other Cozy Christmas Mysteries on our Christmas River intro episode. Today we're going to discuss one of the most intriguing contenders that we didn't pick: Christmas Presents by Riley Blake. This is the "cozy" where several children are left orphaned after an ALLEGED horrific accident. It delivered exactly what you'd hope from one of these books, and Conor's going to try to explain it all to Mike.

In the 1987 film Throw Momma From the Train, Billy Crystal plays a failing writer who teaches a creative writing course at a local community college. I recommend watching the scenes from that film where the students read their own work. This selection would fit right in with the students’ writing samples from that class.

Y'all, I read all five of these books, and let me tell you, this is not even the most insane plotline. Books three and four are particularly unhinged. I'm talking "a resident was stabbed to death and beheaded in the retirement home but we should definitely go ahead with our planned party" and "Oops, Pearl accidentally caused a mobster Red Wedding."
