Bridget, is it your Jones's Diary?! (Patreon)

The Lair of the White Worm movie got some commenters talking about Hugh "I'm Huge" Grant and some of his other films, including Bridget Jones's Diary, which gives me an excuse to tell this quick anecdote (because "story" is too strong a word):
For those who don't know, and why should you, my wife's maiden name is Bridget Jones. So when Bridget Jones's Diary came out it was bedlam at our house. Because the spelling was exactly the same and no one who knew her didn't call her by her full name, and it seemed like something she might have done there were no amount of official denials that could quell the speculation that she was the author.
Why she would make herself British and create the nom de plume Helen Fielding no one could explain. But I kid you not, she was issuing denial after denial to old friends, classmates, teachers, aunts, uncles, cousins, professors, sandwich artists, etc. I received more than one unsolicited "I Love Bridget Jones" t-shirts in the mail (they remain unworn).
I'm certain there's an aunt or two out there still convinced she's pulling some long con, whatever they imagine it may be.
Anyway, she is Bridget Jones, but not that Bridget Jones.
(Though Sir Nathaniel, after I asked him, paused for several long minutes and said through a mouthful of walnuts, "The names are the same so it's only logical that they are the same persons! *zzzzzzzzzz*")
