2 Worthy Causes (Patreon)
Content
Hey Patreon supporters! First things first, we won't be recording til Monday - the breakneck pace at which Maxim and Alessia looked at each other near a piano in this section made us have to tread slowly.
More importantly, as you may or may not know, we earmark a chunk of our patreon earnings every month towards a charitable/non-profit cause. Usually we're supporting 826 National, which teaches creative writing workshops in areas where kids would not have access to that kind of encouragement.
This month, we split the donation between two causes with personal ties. First, to World Vision USA. Mike's Like Trees Walking co-host David Berge is running a marathon in October and picked them as his fundraising cause "to help provide life-changing clean water to children and communities in the developing world." His Marathon fundraising page is here: https://www.teamworldvision.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donate.participant&ParticipantID=170822
Second, to The Willow Foundation. This was started by a middle school acquaintance of mine who is a breast cancer survivor, and it came to my attention because a childhood friend was running a fundraiser in memory of her father who recently passed away after a battle with cancer. They raise money for "researchers who combine traditional methods of treating late stage cancer with good nutrition."
Thanks for helping us make a difference through this dumb podcast!
