I've been to quite a few english pubs in the last few weeks and each time I go into a place that advertises to having been open for several hundred years (the oldest one claimed to be almost a thousand years old), I think about the travelers and patrons of these places over the centuries. Who were these people and what conversations did they have? Where were they travelling to and from to stay at the inn or were they a local? Were fights started? Was love expressed? What songs were sung?

"You meet in a tavern" has always been a signal for those of us in the know, and for a while I have wanted to do my own version of that. And since having all these thoughts and being inspired by so many cool places I finally had to.

How many of your adventures have started at a roadside inn or city tavern? Quite a few of mine for sure. What game are you running right now and what would an inn in your world look like?

As always, let me know what you think of this one, and for those of you in the Discord, jump over there and tell me some stories of starting in an inn :)

Great tavern drawing! I love that it is a bit more down to earth and not full of dwarves, elves and dragon-kin so I can use it for my 19th century setting ;)Would be awesome to have more of them in different variety. They are useful in almost every RPG and setting.

nice! I have so many taverns across my games that I'm always in search of new interior art, appreciate it!
