Measuring madness (Patreon)

I had ordered a new UMIK-1 microphone but noticed that it measures differently to my old one despite using the included calibration file. Therefore I also bought a SoundID from Sonarworks which again deviates from the others.

Red is my old UMIK, blue the new one and green the Sonarwork, measuring the KH80 equalised below 1khz.

When looking at some other graphs of the KH80 it would seem that my old UMIK still measures most correctly, therefore I will continue to use this one for all my measurements.

I will either return the new UMIK or send it to Hifi-Selbstbau who offer a calibration service.
