I recorded this a while back but forgot about it when I got sick and then got quite busy trying to optimise my target, but now you can listen to both speakers side by side with all their glory. To my surprise I seemed to like the SP-500 more especially in terms of bass, it sounded somehow more real to me, more kicking, on the other hand mids sound slightly hollow, which you can hear towards the end when I played some pink noise. Also imaging seems again a bit different, therefore next time I will try to record both speakers with the same exact placement using my artificial head to really hear all those nuances. I got a phone call right at the end of the video, thus had to interrupt it quickly, sorry for that.

If you use my last EQ for the HD600 I posted here, you should hear the sound as close to real as I managed to achieve so far. There will be some changes in future though. Instead of 2 different targets or EQs, I will settle for the "neutral" target only and simply equalize my recordings accordingly to still get the same end result. Originally my plan was to equalize my recordings to "flat" but even now tthey are not "flat" at all, as I had to do already apply some adjustments and tilt the balance towards treble, all this resulted in the problems with different targets etc I posted before. Now that I somehow managed to approximate "neutral" for the HD600, I will drop all my previous EQs and use this as base for all my future videos from now on. Thus, using any upcoming headphone EQ I will create will be towards my "neutral" target and my recordings will be compensated to sound just right like that. I will talk about this more in detail next time.

Your videos are the first time I hear about this brand, and now considering buying a pair of SP-500s! Interesting that they have such a low presence outside of Germany. I've been interested in a good pair of active floorstanders that play hifi with authority for some time, but most of them are so expensive. Thanks for your videos & following this journey with great interest!

If you are interested I still have the SP-500 here. I could sell you these for cheaper, they are like now just used them for the videos and will need them for another video but then I can ask Nubert if they let me take them over.

That could be interesting! Depending on the price with shipping, and I'd be giving up the possibility of a return of course. Let's discuss after the last video!

Hey!
