I just got the speaker stands I talked about in my last video and wanted to demonstrate you the effect of elevating the speakers from my usual position. I cannot guarantee that I was sitting exactly the same in both cases, although I tried hard, but you can nevertheless hear the drastic difference quite well I think. Therefore in my previous video the SP-200 were definitely playing with a disadvantage compared to the X3000. I would like to compare both in another short video but with both speakers placed on the stands and swapped in between like I did in this video here.

In the first half of this video the speakers were playing with my user settings, where I applied the automatic room correction and some personal EQ to flatten the frequency response a bit. Below you can see a measurement with default settings without room correction in red and after my adjustements including room correction in blue:

Unfortunately the effect of room correction is pretty subtle, it manages to raise the part at 100hz, but boosts bass even more not reducing the strong resonance at 40hz. I need to play a bit more with the EQ to tame the bass even better. The second half of the video shows you the difference of my EQ to the default setting, also comparing the speaker sound to the original recording. I am still not quite sure how valid the direct comparison to the original recording may be, but it sounds quite plausible to me. I will need some more time for further listening tests to optimise and finalise my entire recording chain.
