Couple of questions: Are these playlists made up of music with good to great masterings with good dynamic range? I'm guessing all streaming providers have the masters but I don't think it's possible to see that and often remastered masters have replaced original, more dynamic masters. Or are most of these songs by artists that aren't popular enough to have multiple masters?

I am not a big fan of „remasters“ which often are sounding far worse than the original recordings from back then. Jazz was always known for top notch recording quality, thus mostly jazz and related genres are included. Recent pop music is usually recorded way too boomy and distorted, unsuitable to judge sound quality of audio equipment.

I know the jazz is usually mastered very well. Have you made any playlists with good modern pop music or is it kinda pointless? If you haven't I think it would be a cool thing to do to see what kind of artists you would find. I'm guessing the most popular artists wouldn't make the list but it would be interesting to see which popular ones manage to buck the loudness war trend.
