Based on my measurements and findings I did lately I tried a quick first adjustment to get a spare filter left and be able to adjust an additional dip which I measured with my ears.

I remodelled the bass using just 1 filter now and used the spare filter to create an additional dip which shows up in my in-ear measurements as a result of my personal HRTFs. I also readjusted some other nearby filters as the balance changed a bit with the new dip added. I could also reduce the 16.000kHz filter to 5dB to get the same detail as before which tended to be masked by the perceived peak at 7.4khz. For me the result now is again smoother than it was before, especially noticeable with pink noise, but it also improves a lot with music now, especially hi-hats sound more realistic now, at least for me.

Keep in mind that this adjustment was done based on the measurements I did with my own ears, it's not guaranteed that this added dip will also work for you. I only adjusted my own 6000 setting, but you can easily try to tweak your own setting with your resonance by adjusting the filters as shown.

At the left side my original neutral setting for 6000hz resonance, at the right the new setting:

You can see that the 1st filter overtook the entire bass, while the 2nd filter has gone completely and is used as 5th filter with 7400Hz, I also had to adjust the new 2nd filter with 1100Hz to work together better with the 1st filter and I also reduced the 3rd and 4th filters to get a better balance with the new created dip.

Here you can see the new response overlaid with the speaker measurement I did with my ears, notice how the dips align with the dips I am measuring with my ears, I also marked which filter is responsible for which area. You can try to change those filters in frequency or gain to maybe align them better with your own HRTFs:

Last but not least here the new response and the old neutral setting in green:

I would welcome everyone with a resonance of 6000Hz to check if that additional adjustment also improves the result for you, or if you don't need this additional dip, or if the dip is located somewhere else in your case. Also try adjusting the 6th filter in frequency to maybe align it better with your own HRTFs, but those who complained about the sound being shouty may get a smoother result now.

I will continue listening with this new setting for longer and see if there is still something that bugs me, but so far it sounds definitely better to me.

Please let me know your experience in the comments.
