I had planned to do this video long ago when the VIFA City was released. For this purpose I even bought the P2 again and had measured most of these speakers here. I will try to find these measurements again and will show them in a separate post.

Best pocket sized portable speaker

I still like my xiaomi. I sent the Vifa City back due to lack of bass, though otherwise it was nice. I reach for the Minirig mini 2 most often

the Minirig Mini 2 is definitely a great performer, just slightly too bulky compared to the others here except the Sonos of course. The Sonos on the other hand can compete with the larger Minirig 3 in overall sound, just lacking in loudness.

hast du mal eine Messung vom Roam gemacht und könntest die hochladen? Wäre echt interessant zu sehen!

I just gave my second unit of the denon envaya mini to my neighbour. i am missing that one in this comparison, as it is still a nice speaker. But it is of course a very nice comparison. i like this kind of comparison Videos.

I think your Xiaomi is already defective, all this scratchiness is not supposed to be there. Btw, mine started to do the same after 2 or 3 years, it's already in trash bin :)

I bought another xiaomi with the sd card after I blew a speaker on my first one

All these colored mids and muddy treble happening on Tribit is just because of the top cover, with tiny holes and this thick rugged fabric material over them. Once this is removed (it’s not supposed to be removed though, as it’s glued in place), the treble gets all the missing sparkle and brilliance to it, and the slightly colored upper mids get lost, so the sound is much more “hifi”. I would maybe say, it is comparable (if not better) to Sonos within its sweet spot, and overall volume range wise much better, but I don’t have the latter mentioned, so can’t compare in person. Basically the same story as with Fugoo XL jacket, except the fact that you would not probably want to use a portable (pocket-size) speaker with the top cover removed (as the drivers are completely exposed). It’s a pity though, they could have tried to compensate for the lost detail with an EQ. Still it’s a killer buy, especially 2 of them playing in stereo 😉

SONOS make great job!

Thank you for doing this comparison, Oluv, really helpful. I've been looking forward to this one. I'm really tempted by the P2 now, classy sound and so pocketable. The Sonos sounds a bit unpleasantly boomy with Underwater Love. I'm trying out a maxsound plus but after a long test found my 1st gen Beoplay A1 outclassed it mostly on deep bass and clear vocals at low levels. I've ordered a soundcore boost to test also. I was just in an electrical store and think the JBL Charge 5 is the most aesthetically pleasing BT speaker, but I'm not paying that much money!

Omg why didn’t you compare the mini 2? It’s such a good speaker that sounds amazing for its size and great battery life.

Hi Oluv - I did the same EQ on the Beoplay P6 as you've done on the Beoplay P2. It really makes a difference to the sound signature , calming the base problems these speakers have on default tuning . The P6 really sings now . 🥁🎼🎺
