Took these speakers out for a walk and wanted to hear if the Anker SoundCore Boost can keep up with the Motion+ to some degree and how the vintage JBL Flip 4 would fit in here.

The only fact I wouldn't recommend it as best overall portable speaker in this class are the problems at low levels, apart from that quite an impressive performer for little money.

Oluv - As released, is the upgraded Soundcore Boost a worthwhile replacement for the wonderful MaxSound Plus?

Anonymous

Hi Oluv! How does it compare to the tribit maxsound plus?

oluvsgadgets

I think it should outperform it in all regards as long as you don’t listen at low levels

Oluv at what volume % approximately, do these issues go away? Thanks for the beautiful video!

oluvsgadgets

It depends a lot on the music; but usually I would say at around half there shouldn’t be any issues.anymore. It should stop around 30-40% I would estimate.

So at low levels, say under 30 to 40%, the Maxsound Plus would have the edge?

oluvsgadgets

Well it won’t sound as fat but it doesn’t have any weird issues with disappearing bass. If not that problem the Boost would beat them all though. With some slight EQ adjustment it can sound pretty darn good but you always get this pumping bass up to around half with particular tracks

Thanks, Oluv. You da man! I literally just bought a Maxsound Plus from Amazon today (after all this time!). I got a bit fed up with my minirig mini 2 and original beoplay a1 sounding a bit cluttered or muddy, and with the lack of bass but nice stereo separation/definition of my Xiaomi mi. I am pretty happy with the Maxsound Plus after a quick listen. For £44 it's like a beefed up xiaomi. I mostly play my speakers quietly. I may get a soundcore boost if anker sorts out the issues you mention 👍

Out of those 3, which do you like the most thomas? the a1,mini, and max?
