Sony SRS-XB33 vs Teufel MOTIV Go - after midnight listening session #3

Sounded great through a pair of Etymotics. A bit off when I used headphones.

The Sony is in a different league.

The Sony was better in most cases, but not with all the ambient/space -type of tracks. The Teufel has a warmer sound than the Sony, which I think suits that kind of music. The sound from the new microphones sounded nicer than the old ones. The difference in raw files was quite big - probably less work for you to equalize the file from the new mics?

i was listening the video with my headphones. i got up to take some water and i was not looking at the screen and not listening carefully at that moment. then suddenly i heard a click right behind me and turned back in the room which i was totally alone. then just in a few seconds i realised you made that click with your hand in the video :)

while you put headphone to your head it does not sound nice, a bit harsh i might say as a critic.

The computer noise you talked about - the hissy, static noise similar to white noise that's in the recordings - it should go.    Otherwise, sound & pictures lately are outstanding.

Sony way better, more conving(deeper bass, clearer treble), and teufel at least on one track was farting a lil bit, the live sound efects on both had their specific advantages, but i would still favor sony because it sounded broad while still playing normal, i like reberb efects indeed as i love my marshall but yeah it's not as exagereted and sound is also nicer, while still being cheaper, just no disabling blumin. Well as for the new mics they seemed more coloured to me but as you already know my headphones also ain't be the most honest so i am not sure xp, lets see how they in the upcoming videos.

Congrats, both Audio and Video quality has increased a lot with your newest achievements. Looks and feels very comfortable to me and even more realistic. I am enjoying it a lot.

my computer is usually running the whole day. I only turn it off when I record my videos but I was currently during the encoding process of the forest video which took several hours due to its length and I couldn't stop it.

I was surprised that I managed a quick EQ for the new setup that quickly. I set weeks for my first one, and tried to improve it repeatedly and never got fully satisfied. To my surprise with the current setup it seems to work for both speakers and headphones with exactly the same compensation. I could maybe tweak it sperately to get better results for each of them, but I think I will stick with the current method. I cannot get it much better without wasting even more time.

Good stuff. Really like the new adjustments. The life q30 is promising.. Waiting for a nice review and your eq-settings on those q30's. .

I think the recording method is very promising, and already better than the previous one. I own the Helsinki and listening through Sennheiser HD560s (which sounds quite flat in my ears) seems more realistic. Maybe the sound is a bit ethereal, diffuse, as it would comes from beyond, I prefer the RAW mode. Great job as always.

Great job with the new microphones. I love the fact you allowed yourself to completely change the opinion you had of the Sony in the begining, before you really got into it. Looking forward to some wireless headphone comparisons in the future as well.

Jo Oluv, wollte fragen, ob du im Falle eines Motion Boom-Tests den Cross mit eonbeziehen könntest. LG
