I got a  new first firmware from Aiwa for the Exos-3 which still doesn't have the 3dB boost mode included, thus I made the outdoor comparison still with the old version and updated afterwards for the indoor comparison. I think after the update it sounds also better at high levels, but I need to wait until the final version to give my verdict.

I would still change treble though as the fullrange drivers contribute too much to the treble response, while the tweeter is hardly hearable.

Aiwa Exos-3 vs JBL Xtreme 3

Der Aiwa ist echt vielversprechend wenn das nächste Update gut ist

as i especullated, it really seems aiwa can compete quite well against xtreme 3, but there's still a long way on, on tuning, and i think adding an addicional sound mode would come in handy like a boomier(just like what it sounded here is good for outdoors) powerfull one, and another more softer for indoors, because most issues for speakers at general is that we see too much being for a single porpouse and like that it w'd even be more volatile, my sugestion here w'd be reducing boxi bass and put a lil bit more jbl like, but in this case 70/80hz, 60 is too much power consuming, and some smoother treble like the one you tested here indoors.

Would be really awesome if you manage to get the developer sound tuning software, so that you can generate and flash your own firmware to the Aiwa Exos-3! I hope it will get some kind of loudness for low levels. Sadly, many manufactures dont integrate this in their speakers. Size wise i would compare the aiwa more to a jbl charge or a flip.

Aiwa is more balanced, warmer, smaller, it cost half the price of the jbl and it’s even louder with some tracks it will be even better with some firmware udpate by correcting the treble and adding more bass for moderate levels Congratulations Aiwa Hope they will release a successor of the exos 9

Can the W-king d8 compete against these two speakers or against the fugoo xl?

oluvsgadgets

well, not really. The D8 sounds pretty rough, although loud it doesn't sound as refined as the Fugoo XL

Do you think that with the firmware update, the exos 3 is able to outperform the motion boom ?

Wouah. I was not expecting that. I thought the aiwa would have kicked the motion boom soundwise.
