Thanks for this very nice video and music and the nice big car of your son 😃. Enjoyed it much while relaxing in my garden 😎. I own both speakers and I‘m also a fan of both. I prefer the Fugoo a bit for it’s „all-around-sound“, great stereo-image and warmth. The Motion plus is a bit dry, direct and analytic. I still try to solve the problem of the slightly muddy sound of the Fugoo while it is in its jacket, maybe I will find a trick to solve this. Many greets and have a nice weekend.

Any idea if the Fugoo 2.0 has some changes in sound? Also the tough version shouldn’t swallow treble that much as there is no fabric at all.

I don’t know the 2.0, I also read on the Fugoo page that it now should do 105 db, but at least I don’t care that much about pure loudness so this was no reason trying to get it. Unfortunately there were only Softwareupdates changing the sound of the voice prompts, no update in speaker tuning. The Jacket of mine (also the Sport) is a two layer thing. Inside plastic with some mesh on the outside and I feel like the coloration of the sound doesn’t rely to the outer mesh-like cover but to the inner plastic thing. I thought about cutting out the plastic inner thing around the tweeters without damaging the mesh but til now I didn’t dare for not having the right tool to do that.

What I mean is that sound changes overall due to reflections on the inner plastic fabric, for its not only the missing treble but also adding slightly some annoying mids. The difference is imo not that big but as I know that it could sound better I would like to get the best out of it. If Apple would add a useable EQ in Apple Music at last that would be the best and solve any issues

Question: do you know if at least they got rid of distortion? Well because for it to be louder then it would need to reach for that a best as possible if not at least matching max volume of the 1st version and at last but not least with it nice tuning.

@ José, I don’t know, but it could be possible that because of greater loudnessrange it won’t distort at a comparable loudnesslevel. By the way, with my Fugoo XL I can notice distortion only on the last two steps of loudness and only in outdoormode, so for me absolutely no dealbraker and I can’t fully confirm what Oluv did notice. Finally all BT-speakers I had and know, do not really sound best when cranked to maximum, and most have a sweet spot in loudness where they sound best. Even the sorrounding and placement of a speaker has great influence. I can say that the Fugoo XL does a great job and works in nearly all sorroundings and placements and loudnesslevels, more than most others do. This may be an advantage of the „all-around“ placement of the drivers. There is a brand new review claiming it to be better and louder than the xtreme2. You can find it here, but without any audio-samples: https://www.outeraudio.com/fugoo-tough-xl/

On Fugoo.com they are selling the Tough XL for 167.99 USD, but they don’t ship to Germany. For that price I would even get a second one, but shops who ship to Germany want (inkl. Taxes and shipping) more than 300 EUR so I won’t do that

Thanks man i will check the review and i've been this past weeks interested in it, just what i am afraid is that they w'd like mess up or make it worse than it was like the helsinki(not that i say that it sounds bad i def like oluvs one way more), and once i get rid of my bbx i denefletly will try to buy one, also hoping to not pay taxes to get it sent in here to the 🇪🇺.

can you do a soundcheck of the Reykjavik in stereo? as they are really cheap right now. would be nice to hear a comparison against a1, minirigs or even helsinki or atleast share some opinion. thanks

With small speakers I really enjoy the Tribit Stormbox Micro in Stereo. Cause of the size it’s no problem to carry two of them and you don’t need to sit in front of it to have a nice sound

I tried the Fugoo a few years ago when you first had one. At the time I was looking to replace the old JBL Xtreme, and the Fugoo bass goes much lower (and sounds better all around). In the end though I returned it because the bass was only hearable at all when I was in the same room. If I walked through the doorway into the next room it was like someone turned off the bass. I did not have this problem with the Xtreme, and I don’t have it with the Stockwell II, Helsinki, Motion+, or others. I think the Fugoo lacks power compared to the other speakers. It has many drivers but they are small so you need to be close to them, or they start to sound like headphones that you’ve taken off your ears. You can begin to hear how much more powerful the Anker sounds from outside the tent. Oluv, I wonder if you perceive this same issue when you move out of line of sight with the Fugoo in your house? It did sound nice when placed next to me, a good personal speaker but maybe a bit expensive for that use alone.

I had a contrary effect with the Beolit 15. Inside the room it sounded rather normal while outside the room it was just bass and droning.

Please make video of two Motion + in stereo pair. Nice video as usual. Thanks

Just got a fugoo 2.0 to test... i think it's the same as the fugoo S SpeakerToni reviewed... maybe worse. 2 full range + 1 passive rad on the "front" & passive rad on the "back". Sounds pretty terrible. Returning it ASAP. Not sure how the fugoo xl 2.0 would be

The fugoo feels/sounds really warm, which is nice, but you don't always want that. I wonder if you could replicate that warm sound on the anker.

Is Fugoo still in business? I emailed them about purchasing the remote for my XL and no one has replied.

I assume not really. They maybe still have some stock left but they are not producing anything. But I really don’t know for sure.

I am really liking my Soundcore Motion +. Thanks to Oluv for recommending it
