This was the 2nd take I recorded after I had noticed that Gopro's Hypersmooth didn't work properly the first time.
Wasted another hour as Hypersmooth still failed here as well. The image still appears very shaky during some parts and I have no diea what the issue is.
I must definitely upgrade my 1st person cam to something better in the long term. Just need to get enough funds for this.

Hmm, I like the old one more somehow. I hear, the new one is more cleaner and flat sounding but also more boring. I like the deeper bass and better treble. I also like my HK go and play, maybe thats the reason for xD

Quite an hard choise if i were to buy one of these in between them truly at normal lvls with not to heavy or messy sounding tracks like(rock or metal) they do sound gr8 but at the end i still think i would rather pick and recomend the old one over at least for people who won't care much about sound because also of that 100$ price difference, the 2nd may have improved but at the end we have the same speaker just with diferent issues and some compromisements(like bass extension) compared to the old one. edit:as for the camera ik you had too much hassle with since u said it, but at least the results were gr8 so if it at least won't be as bad during daytime then at least for me this one its decend, so need to worry much about it, unless it makes you waste to much time.

I swapped my GoPro recently for another unit as mine creates some static hiss in many of my outdoor recordings. I haven’t noticed this issue with the new unit yet, but it seems to struggle with hypersmooth now: not sure if it’s because of the bad light or something else. I also did low light videos with my old one and had no issues. But with all the problems I had when I got the GoPro I am really wanting to change to something else.

2nd gen sounds definitely better. Wondering how it sounds in with a second speaker in stereo pairing mode. :D

Nice comparison. Had the original A1 for a little while a couple years ago, but I’m liking the more balanced, better tonality and control of the second version.

I'm guessing the EQ was on default for both units? Does the A1 go loud enough for normal indoor usage? Some reviewers have complained that it is surprisingly soft. Btw I too like the 2gen a bit better; sounds more natural.

I'm excited for the next comparisons you mentioned Anker soundcore, Stockwell II, etc

I love my A1 1st gen on very quiet late night - so rich sounding. And doubles as an ultra-small practice bass guitar amp as it can just about get down to 40hz!

oluvsgadgets

I will do another video with them outdoors to see which one performs better at high levels. I wouldn’t say it’s soft, but we will try this next time

Very nice video, cool music and extremely relaxed comparison. Thanks! In terms of your complaints about the camera i agree with José, for me there‘s no need to change. Have a nice sunday

Oluv thanks for this great comparison. I was waiting this with big hype since i really liked the 1st gen, i only didn't buy it because of the battery. But now im disapointed by the new one because like i read on reddit from someone that buy it, it doesn't fill the space like the old one. The problem is the old one had amp off 15watts and the new one is just 5wats. I guess they did that so the battery can last. Now im looking forward to buying the P6 since it can fill big space and is portable. Oluv can you please made an another review of the P6 because not it has an update and they tone down the treble and the fake effects. I just need to hear it again from you before i cash out so much money for speaker.

oluvsgadgets

I am still not sure the P6 is worth the money at all. It was not bad, but nothing really special.

But the motion+ is not 360 and i doubt that it has better bass, at any level

oluvsgadgets

actually the bass on the P6 was nothing particular, at high levels the Anker blows it away. I mean you could get 3 Ankers for that price. It's not a 360° speaker, but I would even rather get a Minirig with sub which would still be a much better sounding speaker. have you tried comparing both here? The P6 sounds really weird: http://switcher.oluvsgadgets.net/?vidone=ImQREQomUTI&vidtwo=Oc1UtTiwMdI

I have a problem with these videos.Yesterday it was ok but now when I try to watch them there is text that they are unavailable.

Anonymous

Yes.Only the old Douni A7 video is working.

Anonymous

To point them at you why not place them vertically on the cushion and lean them against the arm of the couch? I do this at home with Minirigs. Speaking of Minirigs, the MinirigMini is one of my favorite speakers - it gets a lot of use. With that in mind, would an upgrade to the Mini2 (louder w-better battery life you said, anything else?) be significant enough to justify the expense? Thanks as always for your advice. PS That's a skinny sleeper couch you have there, take care not to roll off it.

Everything is ok now.Keep on good work.I have watched your videos many years and they are great.

Anonymous

he justified that they would slipp. design from minirigs are better to place vertically too.

Big fan, Small children, Big sound: BSB (sic) Was your reply a soft yes? If so, well done. I'm not a fan of incremental improvements... I'd better wait for your full review.

I understand how people can like the second one more. I however listen a lot to Dubstep and Drum and bass, which is very reliant on the sub bass extension to sound powerful, and enjoyable. The bass in this kind of music can often go below 50 hertz and while still being core to the song. The A1 1st gen is the only small speaker that I have found until now that plays this kind of music, while usually hitting all the bass notes (other speakers often suddenly cut off on the lower notes). The bass being not as clean only seems to happen on sounds with a lot of attack, so in music where the extension is important, but the bass doesn't have a lot of dynamics, the A1 is still unbeaten in my opinion, in any case by speakers with even slightly comparable size. If your kind of music has a lot of dynamics in the bass and needs clean bass, I'm guessing the A1 2nd gen will be more to your liking. I have definitely noticed the pow pow effect Oluv mentions, though it does not really happen with my music.
