May Development Report! (Patreon)

Lots of work being pieced together behind the scenes lately for new content! With how things are coming along, we'd like to really showcase and share said content previews with everyone leading up to the point when we have a release date set! ^^

Without trying to over hype development and content, expectations... I think it's fair to say this month will be very crazy for what we have in mind to share along with everyone! Our first of many things will actually come later this week as a big announcement for the project that's been in the works for a few months now.

(Keep an eye out on the Patreon page and posts for some subtle hints to this. :P Even some of our recent posts from the past months, see if you can come close with your guesses as to what this announcement is!)

Before I further ramble on! Let's dive into things!

[~Expectations for May!~]

As hinted above, we'll be doing a deep dive into showcasing the upcoming content for MA through behind the scenes, previews and much more! All through May, each week should roughly showcase the actual content itself in different stages of development, some might be less exciting to view than others... But, it'll be the idea of sharing with everyone where we're sitting with content leading to setting a release date for it.

Besides that as a big highlight for May, we'll be sharing our next big announcement in the coming days for MA! ^^ Our first big announcement earlier this year was the Diaper Influence System that's coming to MA little by little in upcoming updates. So, if you enjoyed that announcement, you might just enjoy this second announcement as well!

Without rambling too much, our goal is to really have a release date set and confirmed during May. We'll of course know more as we share our behind the scenes look at the content itself, showing the scripts and tidbits here and there through the month. The main idea is setting a date that we won't back down on, in other words, the content is 75-80% done in engine upon our announcement for a date. :P

[~Story~]

Last month, I had confirmed that after much thought with the world setting and story for MA. That MA takes place within the countryside of Wales, UK! There is still some Japanese influence in some visual aspects of MA, which will make sense during the story as to why certain things at the academy itself is like that.

(For example: The student's gym uniforms are clearly Asian influenced instead of what you'd expect in Wales or the UK in general. ^^" It'd seem like someone in charge of the school has a thing for the culture, that's for sure!)

Besides this for changes to the story, there are some new additions being made to the game in the coming months. Little by little, we'll be adding mini additions to episodes 1-4 content mainly, some new scenes between existing moments, additional information added, etc. We'd like to explore detailing some of the finer qualities about the school and it's unique set of rules for the students, getting to piece together what other aspects of daily life is like at the school through actions.

I can't speak too much about that, but one example is that the school has a bathhouse for bathing. Now... Clearly with a few male teachers/staff working at the school, it'd be awkward if Miki ran from the locker room into the bathhouse naked while John was bathing, wouldn't it? >.<

I'm happy to say that can't happen! The students have set periods through the day and night reserved for them to make use of the bathhouse and of course teachers/staff have to respect that unless they wish to be fired. The teachers/staff doe have their own set period during the day to make use of the bathhouse, but since there are both female and males at the school in this regard. They have to decide who gets to use the facilities first, unless they're simply okay doing it co-ed.

This is little world setting details about the daily lives at the school, how things function and inter-work together. It's stuff like this that I'd like to express and showcase to the player in-game, but I do feel it's best to showcase the information in a fun way if possible. "Don't tell the player, show them!" :P

We'll see more of this stuff in the future though, for now let's move along!

[~CG art~]

MarxeDP & AjoseMp have been spending much of April, working on Miki's Dream cg art that was funded by a higher support tier! It's just about finished and so we'll begin sharing the concept previews and finished previews for that in the coming weeks!

Quite a bit of stuff is in the works and will be shared here very soon! We're excited to share it all with you!

[~Sprite art~]

Lisa managed to get a ton done in April! A good bit of stuff we already shared during the month, but there's still some surprises to be seen this month! One thing we didn't quite get done in April that we had wanted to finish was Marron (oc).

This is our first priority for May on sprite art related work! Then there will be some minor additions related to Allie and Rosa, along with Juliet! Hope we have some excitement for that later this month. ^^

[~BG art~]

Olivson has been really busy knocking out the few bg's we need! With all the work done in April, we're already seeing concept previews for the biggest bg location of the new stuff and that'll be done sometime this month. Then it'll just be one last location needed for bg art before we're officially done with bg art for the base game experience!

[~Music~]

ComposerJF was able to finish up Bridget's Theme during April! ^^ Very happy with how that turned out and excited to put it in-game!

Our goal for May is tackling Rachel's Theme next! I've already heard a few sample melodies to pinpoint the right tone for her theme, so I'm getting excited to see how that'll sound in full later this month hopefully!

That'll place us at 3 tracks remaining roughly, two more character themes and one special song that's meant for a highlight moment in the game. :P With a new track done per month, we can expect the music for MA to be finished by the end of August.

Aaaand that's it for this development report! I tried to cut down on the text, not too sure if people prefer my loooong ramblings or straight to the point style posts? I've been trying to strike a balance at least! It just tends to be more wordy with these posts each month. ^^"
