It's been a while since we've shared some cg related art hasn't it? <.< More so, concept previews! Well today, I'd like to share a sneak peek at a special disclaimer piece of art in the works!

Before we dive into the previews... This is technically a cg scene in how it pops up within the game, but the main purpose of it is to act as a uniquely fitting disclaimer for MA.

Some of you might recall our earlier builds of MA long ago, when starting a new game for the first time. You'd be met with Miki's sprite as she warns you about the upcoming content you're about to witness for the game and other warnings needed.

We replaced that with a generic screen as a disclaimer, which is well and all... But I feel that MA should provide a uniquely fitting disclaimer at the start of the game for fresh players, something that blows the original disclaimer out of the water! :P

Not only that... But, the longer that MA has been in development. We've begun to notice some odd 3rd party websites hosting downloads to the game, along with some Discord servers that are intentionally or unintentionally trying to pass themselves off as being related to our game project, but they have zero connection to our development team. Some of these people mean no harm, but we're aware that things will grow further beyond our scope...

So, with that in mind. Our new disclaimer will be clear and direct with listing the official websites to follow/download MA from or if they wish to support us, etc. It will also mention the official Discord server and that any other's with similar name or impressions aren't connected to this project or our team. This way, if someone discovers the game through a 3rd party source or other means, while playing in the future releases of MA. They should see this disclaimer and possibly lead those interested to follow along officially.

If they choose to support or simply follow along for free, that's entirely up to them. We just want to be sure as more sources begin to pop up along the way and out of our control at times, we'll have a way to help inform anyone.

Will I have to see this disclaimer every time I want to play the game or a new release?

The disclaimer will only show up when you click "New Game". So, if you have saved data to load from as past version/releases have been handled. You'll be able to skip the disclaimer.

Is the disclaimer long or boring? Won't I just skip through it after a few lines of text once I realize it's a disclaimer warning?

We're looking at the disclaimer on the same level as how a given scene in the game is handled. To give the rough summary...

Erika and Miki's sprites would be seen outside the front of the academy, hanging out before noticing a camera filming them, making it clear that what's taking place is a breaking the fourth wall moment and not directly related to the story events. The two girls take advantage of the moment to personally warn the camera of the upcoming content expected for the game.

Of course, it'll be done to fit the two girl's personalities as if it were a normal scene with the two bouncing their energy off one another. So, it won't feel "dry" or forced, but the idea is for the brief scene to be fun and give newcomers a very quick idea of what they can expect in terms of the game's visuals.

As the two girls continue, Erika brings up the official websites and Discord server to follow along with the development of the game, etc. But without having her notebook on her, she decides to write on the back of Miki's diaper with the websites/discord information before it shows this in this special disclaimer art.

There's 3 variants, 2 of which change their expressions, while one is a zoomed in variant to show the back of Miki's diaper clearly.

Overall... The idea is to make the disclaimer fun and entertaining, worth sitting through, but also keeping it short and sweet, not to overstay it's welcome.

That said... Let's see those concept previews!! ^^

Our first preview! With the context further above, we can probably guess who is who even without all the details. :P

But, if you couldn't guess! Now you can! :P Erika is on the left and is clearly lifting the back of Miki's skirt.

More details!

Wow! Super colorful! :O That's all we have for how far this disclaimer art has come along so far! We're expecting it to be fully done by the end of this month though and we want to include this disclaimer moment in with v0.20's release.

Wah! What is this?!

MarxeDP recreated the front section of the academy in 3D! They mainly wanted to do it for 3D practice, but some backgrounds for cg art is done using 3D that's been stylized or touched up by hand afterwards to fit with the visuals of the cg art. That's what we're seeing here, but of course for the disclaimer art, not all of the academy building would be seen.

I thought some of you might like to see the process for that though and it's interesting to see MA assets in 3D at times, given the game originally started out as 3D placeholder assets with the goal of becoming 2D. ^^

That does it for this concept preview! Hope you all enjoy it! The finished preview should be seen later this month and cg art previews are officially back in action!
