Finally! Our first preview to showcase how the dev team's logo "Messy Studios" will look! I wanted to try showing it off alongside the game's logo which was done by Lisa back in 2020, while the team logo was done by ds-sans!

I forget if I've mentioned it yet officially, but ds-sans is handling not only the team logo seen above, but they're the artist handling the finalized gui elements being made for Messy Academy! ^^ I'm very happy to be working with her and can't wait to see how the gui elements we've discussed will turn out in early previews!

I'm trying to ensure the gui color scheme that many of you are probably used to by now is transferred into how ds-sans tackles the gui. Of course that said, there will be major differences too, but I think overall it'll feel more polished out and fitting for MA.

~Logo design thoughts~

When it came to the overall concept for the logo, I knew that I didn't want "Messy Studios" to be only directly linked to MA's project, but rather for it to work for all future projects we'll work on too. It's with this idea that I sort of realized I might've messed up early on in the project with choosing "Messy Studios" as it could easily be seen as a direct naming convention for Messy Academy and the theme of that game project, which might make using the team logo name/design for future projects awkward or out of place.. ^^"

That's when I decided to look at "Messy Studios" as more of a development team concept idea, rather than trying to take it in the angle of it being more directly linked to our current MA project.

I decided to look at why or how it'd all work in a sense.. "Why is it called Messy Studios?" My thought was that given how the development process can be uhh well, pun intended, messy at times and general keeping track of everything. I decided to go with that angle, that it's "messy" studios because of how crazy things can feel at times in development and therefore it could work generally for any kind of future project without feeling like our team logo is directly linked back to MA for the future. ^^" (Not that we're trying to hide MA, rather we just want the logo to feel like it's more of it's own thing.)

With that all in mind, design wise for the logo taking the concept thoughts above behind why it's Messy Studios. One of the first things that came to mind was how when I was little, I'd paint and make such a mess from doing so that it just sort of connected in my head. "Why not make the logo feel like the "messy" part is visualized as paint?" From there the rest sort of filled in with general design left to ds-sans to cover and put everything into what we see here! ^^

Overall, I think ds-sans did a fantastic job! It isn't much to show how it'll affect the game's gui elements, but hopefully it does give some sense of just how polished we're looking to make things feel. :P

(Now when it comes to Lisa's title logo she made for us in 2020, it almost makes me think it's time for a touch up with comparing it. <.< I don't really know yet for sure, as it's not a high priority and just simply a thought in mind right now. While I am very happy with Lisa's title logo for the game, I'm sure if I talked with her here sometime in 2022 between KS oc requests being tackled, maybe she'd be willing to do a overhaul of the title logo or see what she thinks at the time.)

Hopefully these little mock up images to showcase the team's logo was enjoyable to check out! ^^ I might have one or two final posts in mind for tomorrow to end November, one being a general reminder before we head into December/billing warnings.
