Sprite art preview: Evelyn Cecile Godfrey VI (Patreon)

Sometime in the future of MA (Not v0.20), we'll be meeting Evelyn. I'm going to try my best to be very vague and spoiler free about her character in this post. Some of you might faintly recall a very brief mention of her name and some light dialogue from older game versions before v0.14.

We'll be seeing Evelyn within Juliet's route, among some others a bit. She's similar to characters like Rosa and Allie who act as supporting characters for Nova. We don't have a whole lot of information even from long ago in earlier versions of the game about Evelyn. We know very little about her, with the only thing being given away right now is that she must have ties to Juliet if she's going to take part within her route.

~Design log~

Regarding her visual design, it took a year since the brief mention of her popping up long ago for me to really figure out her character story and how she would look. I wanted to make sure her visuals really help play into her character, which is going to be interesting to see as she might come off pretty unique once we begin figuring out just who she really is.

Clearly by the name, we can piece together that much like Juliet. She must come from royalty, so she has to give off this high class, well groomed look about her. That's something very important that I wanted to focus on with her and her royal/casual dress is meant to really help piece everything together for her design. Her underwear choice and even her diaper design reflects her high classiness and royal background.

I think fans will be split on her character as we begin to piece together who she really is. Some will love her, while others will despise her.

~Expression design~

For her expressions, I think maybe there might be a little wiggle room for another mouth piece or two from the looks of it to help fix up a couple expressions seen so far. But for the most part, I think Lisa did a fantastic job yet again in taking the details given and bringing Evelyn to life! ^^

I personally feel like Evelyn comes off looking a bit similar to Juliet in some ways and this was partly intentional to a degree.  

I think that's about all I can really say for now about Evelyn, but hopefully in time.. We'll learn more about this girl and what secrets she holds in her hands.
