Behind the scenes: Day 9 Section 2 (Patreon)

Early preview of the writing for section 2.

This section focuses on Erika and her literature club. Slight support from Bridget.

The section begins with Erika leading Brandon to her club, talking about it with him on the way. Once they show up, he meets the club leader named Garnet who thinks he's cute. With him showing a little interest in books, it sends Garnet into a excitement. But Erika soon tells her not to get too excited, mentioning that the only reading he does is manga. After a little back and forth between siblings, he brings up an embarrassing thing from Erika's past to even the playing field.

It isn't long, before we hear Bridget speak up at the door and Garnet seems to get angry storming off. Leaving Erika, Bridget and Brandon in the club room as Bridget asks her what ever happened to a story she was writing, so we learn that there was some sort of romance story she was making but she mentions that she actually was banned from writing for the club based on her idea. A little dialogue later, it leads her to read what she did have for a draft and it turns out it might've been best she was banned from writing...

Bridget leaves shortly after to do some other stuff, as Erika asks you if her story really seems bad or not. There's a choice here that lightly affects things, but it leads to stuff that makes Brandon have to question if she's really happy doing stuff like this. He doesn't believe her bookworm persona and stuff related to all that is legit, trying to just allow her to be fully happy and be herself again, etc. It seems like we might be learning more about her, but we don't get too far before they dismiss it and laugh together, with him leaving shortly after to do other things. Ending the section after seeing Garnet on the way back to the club, with a smile.

This section is loosely based on before the reboot, back when checking out her literature club. There wasn't any other characters that showed up and the only thing that remains the same for the most part is the idea about her coming up with a written story for the club.

Day 9 has been the most recent written day, so it might be bias. But I feel that if I had to pick out of day 7, 8 or 9 for this upcoming update for being the overall best. I would most likely choose this day, only because it feels like there's a good sense of growth with everyone. Nova has a major thing we learn about, Erika we get a little closer to her and feel progress and Miki in section 3 seems to continue expanding on her fun light hearted moments.

I think it's hard to get a good feeling for how Erika and Bridget's mutual friendship is like in one sitting together. But I think as we see Erika around other characters you can begin to compare how she acts, say with Miki who is supposed to be her best friend. While Bridget isn't a stranger but they don't go out of the way to hang out together, then compare that to Heather or say Nova, possibly Rachel, etc. It should come off kind of cold compared to how we normally see Erika act for the most part.
