They're fans of a company that hates its fans. They're white knighting for a company who refuses to sell soundtracks and older games in a consumer friendly way who then DMCAs youtubers making fun content with their games. So they try and tear down fan art to appease daddy Nintendo in the hopes he'll go knuckle deep on their rear end.
