Spike and Faith Design Update #2 (Patreon)

     Spike and Faith, both are new cast that'll make their debut in upcoming Chapter Five. The original plan was to release Chapter Four Point Two after Chapter Four Point One. Here's why; First is the design itself, I changed it after I posted their design in the previous post. Second is the storyboard and the story direction. Let's go in some depth!

    Start with the design. After I came up with their characters and names, I got a few ideas of what they might look like and how their personalities portray. In the original idea, I want one thorny, spiky, playboy and gangster-like character with his silent-passive-aggressive type partner. So the first look was like this :

I kept exploring other options after this one and came up with another two versions. The second version was to have more elegant Spike and more friendly Faith : 

Then came the 3rd version :

I already started making a storyboard for the 3rd version. However, after 4 pages written, I felt distant and indifferent toward them. Something I didn't want to write about and it kept getting distressing. After moments of despair, I decided I'd go back to what I originally wanted. That got us the first version! I dare to say, it came so easy to me like an old friend. On May 12, I spent 8 hours and 15 pages of Chapter Five was done with the help of my boyfriend. I felt empowered and happy with the result. Chapter Five serves as a character intro of both Spike and Faith and also an event that's going to link Chapter Four Point One and Four Point Two together. It means the order of releasing's going to be Five and then Four Point Two. The problem's solved!

After that night, me and my boyfriend celebrated our small achievements with two cans of beer and a bag of peanuts for both of us. The weather was cooling down and we hit the sack soundly and fulfilled.
