Hi there people.
I see that a lot of you have taken note, so think it proper I take this opportunity to weigh in on the situation, especially after seeing some of the conversations going around, both from people that liked him and the rather small, but insanely vocal, minority that didn't.
First off, let's address him directly in case he reads this:
Hope you're doing well, and do yell out if you decide to return eventually. Though I wish you talked to me or one of the others before you left, I quite appreciate the time you did spend with us, and am truly indebted for the help you've granted me. If you don't return, at least I wish you the very best of luck going forward!

The rest of the post will discuss user interactions and modder motivations, alongside some examples from my user interactions. It may seem as though I'm thinking about doing a run in the night as well, but rest assured, I'm still having plenty fun here, though I'm a bit overworked and need to position regular breaks here now for my own mental wellbeing for a bit, but I'm still here, highly active and don't see myself leaving as long as I'm having fun still.
Also, negative user interactions for my part are super rare, but they really stick when they happen. I can list every single interaction I've had of the sort since I created this user in a heartbeat, so don't go "he should've been able to take it" on anyone here :harold:

So yeah, as you can probably infer from the above, a insanely important piece of the community, one of the main pillars of the current modding environment, has left... well, everywhere. Patreon, Discord, 4chan... you name it, he's gone from there.
This will affect things, quite a bit, as he was a heavy source of innovative plugins, laying a lot of the groundwork, and basically being the main force behind the sideloader plugin, aka the thing you and me all depend heavily on to make modern modding what it is.
Anon did transfer his plugins to the common illusion modding GitHub, so his legacy is still in good hands, and can be extended upon. I did see someone over on 4chan (hi there, I drop by every so often ) mostly talking fondly about him, but one user called him replaceable. You, good sir, have no idea what you're talking about.
He really isn't. At best the hole he left and knowledge he hasn't passed on is invaluable, and leaves the rest of us to try and just keep the status quo really here. The loss of the ideas and skill he had isn't that easily replicated. If it were, there wouldn't be so many neat things coming outta him that nobody had thought about before.
What we need to keep in mind, even the more entitled users, is that modders are people too. I've received my share of threats and shittalking too, I know it becomes a lot when everything starts piling, and have in the past pulled similar stunts to what Anon has done here when I've reached the breaking point. I'm not saying to treat modders as gods, but treat them with common dignity.
{Addressing a single user} That doubly goes to "you" over in IS yelling "shitter" all over the place, super not fond of you right now, by the logic you apply it seems you'll party up the place if I also do a run in the night :harald:
{Back to general} I have no idea if the situation were the same for him as it were for me way back when, but be decent towards people creating stuff, especially those that do it totally for free.
in short... Give constructive criticism and all is fine, we thrive on that shit (ahh, that's a good drug right there ;), just shitting on people just to shit on them is not cool though.
As an example here are the dude that gave me an A4 post yelling at me for not being active enough when I were bedridden with Corona, can't really blame people for leaving if shit like that happens, now can we? I can take it for the most part, though I clearly have a limit myself.
Those of us that clearly doesn't do this for money, but more for the fun of it, because we love it... at some point some of us stops loving it when shit starts to pile on... Keep that in mind, if you want the good stuff to keep flowing, treat those that bring it to you with some dignity.
In conclusion: Long story short though, the world moves on, but the loss is already felt very much behind the scenes. I wish Anon11 the best of luck going forward, and hope that some of you all can use this as a learning moment.
