Hi there!

Some confusion as to what my stance are on leaked mods, so let's try to clarify.

Let's first make this quite clear: I do not want people to go around signing up to patreons and such to leak mods!

I try my best to respect the modders right to utilize his own content in his own way. I support a open and sharing community, where mods are exchanged openly without any paywalling and all that, but some people do this for an actual job at this point and it doesn't sit right with me to take that away from them.

However, once a mod is out there, it is indeed out there. So once I, or those helping me, are able to obtain the mod by publicly available means, like it being shared in the discords, on 4chan or anything like that, I'm not going to turn my head and pretend it doesn't exist. I will at that time add it to the modpack, and I'm quite aware that there's a ton of leaked mods in the modpack already (some people seem to think I'm unaware)

What I don't do, is encourage leaking, it's not a way to gain favour with me or anything. I hold a quite grim view on people taking other peoples hard work and converting it into their own "internet points". That doesn't mean that I'm going to do anything about it, not my place, that's between whoever leaked it and the modder in question.

Remember people, we're enjoying the richness of mods here due to modders, We should respect that and act accordingly. (and yes, I know it's the internet, and that might be a big ask, but doesn't hurt to try)

---------------------------------------------------------

The following is the current policy regarding management of the sideloader modpack for both AIS/HS2 and KK/EC:

The following is the policy Anon11/DeathWeasel had for his KK modpack prior to me taking over. This policy will be extended to also go for the HS2/AIS modpack:

I have no intention to remove any mods from the modpack. Once something gets posted publicly on the internet, intentionally or not, it's outside of anyone's control. People will still be able to obtain the mod, and removing it from the modpack only increases missing mod warnings and tech support problems.

I will honor the already agreed to removals, but going forward this will be the policy I'll manage both modpacks after. To those that may wish to remove their mods from the pack going forward: Sorry, I will not remove any further mods from the pack unless they're straight up broken.

On the matter of leaked mods: I will not add any mods I've gained access to by joining a Patreon or whatever. I will NOT leak a mod no matter how much people ask me to, not gonna happen, but if a mods in the wild, I will not pretend it isn't. It is out there, so to minimize problems for support and end users, I will treat it as public. I do not condone leaking mods that are supposed to be locked, but I will not pretend it doesn't happen. Modders place time, effort and costs into making mods, if you leak them, you will get no respect from me.

I kinda find it funny that anyone would think the guy who literally creates a repack of the entire game for anyone to download for free would be worried about including other people’s mods for free.

BetterRepack

is it hypocritical? sure. I do got my own sense of right and wrong though, whatever it may come off as

Don’t get me wrong. I enjoy your work. Plus I actually own the game, so I’ve done my part.
